A lady posted on the Reddit forum “Am I the a**hole?” about her incident. She is a vegan and recently she sued her friends.
Apparently her friends tricked her into eating chicken nuggets when she was drunk. They also made a video of pranking her into eating the meat. Later in the morning the woman came to know about the incident through her sister. There were videos of her eating the nuggets on the profiles of her friends.
In the video it said “Things like fake crying and yelling ‘the CHICKENS!!!’.” Her friends mocked her by acting as her in the video, and what her reaction would be if she found out that she had meat.
This incident offended her. That’s the reason she called cops on her friends. She said that she felt violated that this happened when she wasn’t in her senses. And she took the video to the police and filed a case against her friends on the grounds of Food tampering.
She posted about the incident on the forum and asked if what she did was right. Many of the users said that she was overreacting for a harmless prank.
But the terms of food tampering in US are not so strict. If the act did not possess a fatal threat then it is harmless. There will only be actions taken if there is a fatal threat to the person or there was any harm to the concerned business. It is only then that a food tampering act can labelled as be criminal.
