The American chain of fast-food restaurants, A&W has recently started a trial of plant-based chicken nuggets in Canada. The fast-food chain has partnered with Lightlife that is popular for vegan meat. Lightlife is now providing meatless products for a limited time at its stores in British Columbia and Ontario. A&W wants to make plant-based chicken nuggets popular in Canada again.
Susan Senecal, the President and CEO at A&W Canada, said that the food chain has a wide variety of new plant-based nuggets to offer and guests of A&W can enjoy these delicious new nuggets at the stores now. Nuggets are considered fun to eat and they are best for sharing purposes as well. The company is expecting that the Canadians will be very impressed with its new plant-based nuggets for lunch, dinner and for any time of the day.
A&W’s plant-based nuggets are crispy, crave-able and meatless. They are made from peas, fava beans, and wheat flour. The fast-food chain is now offering them in six pieces at $5.99 and ten pieces at $8.99. There are also two plant-based dipping sauces named Barbecue and Sweet & Sour that customers can choose from. The plant-based nuggets from A&W can be cooked with vegetable oil too by using a fryer.
This is a great initiative taken by A&W to stop raising the animals for meat and dairy products. The meat and dairy products cause the climate to change due to a large amount of greenhouse gas emissions. People in large numbers around the world are choosing vegan products to express their feelings towards living creatures.
