Weatherspoon’s and The Meatless Farm have come together to put on a delicious fake meat vegan burger in the menu. Like all its competitors it’s also now launching this burger which actually has fake meat in it. It has the texture and taste of meat but is not really an animal product. Like impossible burger and beyond meat, Weatherspoon also added this to their menu.
Before going fully official in 877 locations, it first did a trial run for six months. It did a test run for the vegan burger at 40 locations. And after its huge success, now Weatherspoon is going all out to make the fake meat vegan burger happen.
The mouth watering patty is made up of pea, rice, soya protein, chicory root and carrot fibre. And it has a vegan sour dough bun served with a side of chips and onion rings. This version of the burger costs £6. But if you want a different taste, then you can have it with an extra price. You get tomato salsa, rocket and avocado with the burger.
Even though the chain offers many options for vegetarians this is the first ever vegan burger on their menu. It is Weatherspoon’s first venture with The Meatless Farm. For the latter it is a huge deal given its relatively new in business with only 2 years experience.
This is a huge step by Weatherspoon in this area because it’s competitors have been exploring this area as well. Like Greg’s began sausage roll, McDonald’s vegan nuggets. All these new launches steered Weatherspoon towards its vegan venture.
