A vegan support center has opened in the middle east. It is the first vegan support center in the entire region.
The support center’s primary purpose is to promote veganism, conduct events, distribute food for free, and work with animal advocates of color.
The center is known as The Lebanese Vegans Social Hub, located in Burit. It was created by the animal advocate Seb Alex.
Seb Alex had been working with the Lebanese vegan’s organization since August 2020 (after the massive disaster in Brit. )
The center opening follows the devastating explosion that took place in Burit in August. Around 3,00,000 people became homeless overnight, 200 people were killed, and more than 2,000 people were killed and injured.
After this massive disaster in Burit in August 2020, Seb Alex and Lebanese Vegans distributed vegan food boxes and ready to eat food packages to the people. Vegan food meals were provided to around 2,000 families for free for seven days a week.
Since Seb Alex and Lebanese Vegans were doing a great job, they were given a space to work from a cultural center. The center given to them wasn’t used for the past twenty years.
Now, they are given the center permanently and worked hard to transform it into a center.
The center’s opening was scheduled for November 1 that is World Vegan Day. Around eighty people attended the opening ceremony of the center.
The Vegan Center was later opened officially on December 22, 2020.
Talking about the funds, since the country had faced a massive destruct, that too when such a global pandemic issue (coronavirus) was a matter of concern, which lead to the worldwide recession. The government decided to block the country’s with-drawls or online transactions as their currency saw a fall in value.
This clearly indicates that the center was utterly dependent on international support. No domestic help was taken or accepted by Alex or by the center.
The vegan support center has collected 4,000$ and has just reached 1/5th of their goal. They have aimed to fundraise $20,000.
Furthermore, in an interview, Alex said that the center will distribute free vegan food products, run a café, shop, and co-working area, which will definitely attract many more people to join veganism in the future.
They will also plan many activities and will also conduct documentary screenings to raise awareness among people. Apart from it, they have designed to run an animal rights campaign to show the world the power of going vegan and promote what they are doing for our environment and animals.
The all-new Vegan Center is geared up to promote veganism among people by planning new and exciting things! The strategy applied by the center is undoubtedly going to promote veganism among people. By next year, the number of people going vegan will surely increase tremendously.
