Is Vegan Diet Actually Getting into Cam Newton’s Way to Injury Recovery and Play?

Cam Newton is known to have been on a Pescatarian diet since the year 2013. However, according to his vlog’s March Episode, he has switched his diet towards veganism from this February.

The major difference between vegetarians and vegans is that the vegans say a BIG No to all of the animals’ products, unlike the vegetarians who tend to eat eggs as well as dairy products. On the other hand, a pescatarian diet allows a person to eat seafood while saying a complete no to meat.

As told by Newton, he is always on his way to becoming better, no matter whether it is as an athlete or as a person. So, in order to encourage this thought, he took the hard decision of becoming a vegan.

Although, as per Newton, he felt good light from the time he has switched his diet from pescatarian to Vegan, but several sports nutritionists, trainers as well as dietitians are of a view point that Newton’s Vegan diet might be stopping his body from recovering from his injury in a proper way.

Chris Howard, a certified nutritionist, even advised Newton to once again switch his diet to a pescatarian one. He explained that, if an injured person goes on a pescatarian diet, he will open his way to getting the best proteins as well as fats from the seafood which will directly speed up his recovery.

However, contrary to this, Nancy Clark, a sports nutritionist commented that it is definitely possible for the athletes to perform at high levels even by staying on a vegan diet, provided extensive overcompensating is done.

The efficacy of vegan diet for athletic recovery, thus, is still contentious.
