Dance fitness class Refit is currently reinventing how people from Crosby community come together to remain fit and healthy.
Refit is getting people from Crosby community to enroll in a welcoming and safe workout atmosphere.
Refit instructor, Cheva Smith explained how she cannot imagine her life without Refit. Smith admits that she was not initially amazed about beginning the fitness classes. However, soon Smith found the ‘come as you are’ theory of the workout and took the decision of becoming an instructor.
The class provides a toning and cardio experience that is set to uplifting and positive music.
The entire point is to simply have fun, said Tommie Stanley, who is also a Refit instructor. It does not matter whether you are in-step the whole time unless you are smiling as well as having fun which is all that Refit cares about, Stanley explained.
Three women established the class in Waco in the year 2009. And now, the class is so popular that it is spreading its leg wide across the entire nation and the globe.
One of the unique aspects of the Refit class is it ends with everyone saying a prayer.
As per director of the Crosby Community Center, Michelle Thompson, the class’s inclusivity matches with the aim of the center perfectly, i.e. discovering a something for everyone.
