One of the oldest and most binged watches web series, Coronation Street’s stars and co- stars have taken a pledge to help prevent future pandemics by going vegan. On the show’s sixtieth anniversary, they requested masses to ditch the consumption of animal products. He further added, that around seventy-five per cent of the diseases and infections are borne or spread by animals themselves. The most recent example of the same is a novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.
Looking at history, many pandemics were caused earlier because of animals or birds. Some
of them are Bird Flu, Swine Flu, and many more animal-borne diseases. We are now well aware of the facts about how deadly the coronavirus has turned up. Now, it’s been more than a year we are, living with this virus, but we haven’t got any vaccine yet.
Daily people are getting affected, and death rates are increasing. After seeing such an alarming situation, we must stop consuming meat products and must switch to plan-based products. This will not only save us from upcoming pandemics but will also keep our nature, planet, and our future generation.
These viruses occur because animals are crammed together in a filthy environment, where deadly pathogens can emerge quickly and then spread. This is the right time to say bye-bye to all the unhygienic and filthy farms for the sake of the environment and human beings as well.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) also says and motivates people to eat
vegan food, and to stop consuming meat. As consumption of meat only and only leads to
carbon emissions, which is very bad for the survival of a human being as well as for the
environment.
PETA further adds that, if people start going vegan, and substitute their meat food with
vegan products, the food-related carbon emissions will reduce up to seventy-three per cent.
This is definitely, not a small number.
The news further follows rival T.V. show, Eastenders, who reportedly ditched meat from
their daily menu. Further reports, suggested that the show had exclusively hired an “eco-consultant” to cut down the carbon emission. And would only show the characters eating vegan or cooking
vegan food products. This would encourage the public to eat vegan and to shift from meat
to vegan.
This includes eating Black pudding made up of Black beans and Quorn meat-free sausages.
This will also reduce the wastage of the food.
Now you might be thinking that how is it possible? Well, the answer to it is straightforward,
vegetables or vegan food products can be heated and consumed again in the future, whereas pigs, cows, and sheep cannot be slaughtered.
So, in this way, the wastage of food will also reduce. He concluded on the note that there are a lot many benefits of going vegan, be it to the health of an individual or the animals, or the planet. And they will promote vegan products via their social media handles and movies.
