As people become more concerned about health and safety, many are changing their lifestyles. They are shifting from a meat-based diet to a plant-based diet. While some are doing it for health reasons, others are doing it out of their love for animals. Whatever it maybe, the demand for vegan products is growing. Asda has announced that it will be opening vegan aisle across 359 of its UK stores this year.

The news comes along with its announcement of new vegan products. Asda said that it is ready to come out with as much as a hundred new vegan products in its range of non-refrigerated products. The supermarket chain said that there would be two bays in each Asda store dedicated to vegan products.

The first bay will be savory, including proteins and cooking sauces, while the second one will be for sweet food and snacks. The supermarket chain revealed that according to a study, the demand for vegan products has increased by 275% in the past year.

That’s why Asda is focusing on expanding to vegan products. There will be many vegan products available like Galaxy chocolate flavors, Asda’s own-label rice and lentil bowls, and several products from various brands such as Mrs. Crimble’s, Vego, an exclusive falafel mix from Bosh.

Asda has tried to keep up with the vegan demand since last year. During Christmas, Asda attempted to win its customers’ approval by launching new vegan products like the vegan cheeseboard and vegan mince pies. The products became quite a hit with the people. The new vegan aisle in each Asda Store is going to be a welcome move by many.
