Minnesota Governor Tim Walz arrived at E-STEM Middle School located in Woodbury on Monday as the school celebrated its new fitness center valued at $100,00. Fitness trainer and actor Jake Steinfeld was also a part of the celebration.
As per Walz, each Monday should begin ‘like this,’ with kids from the school using the fitness center to remain healthy and fit.
E-STEM received the fitness center as a present from National Foundation for Governors’ Fitness Councils. The group, which is chaired by Steinfeld, selects the honorees basis video submissions.
E-STEM actually forms a part of the St Paul Public Schools. The school, which was bought by the district for around $15.3mn, is currently in its 1st year.
During the celebrations, Steinfeld gave one motivational speech after which the ribbon-cutting ceremony was held. The students then worked out in turns in the different stations of the fitness center.
The Principal of the school, Jocelyn Sims stood in an empty space around 3 months ago which has now transformed into a stunning fitness center.
She returned back to the school with a smiling face on Monday, saying that she helps conduct a fitness training class daily for kids now.As per Sims, children attend school with several things already on their minds and many of them need to burn off the energy and clear their heads.
